only use ATMs in a legitimate location: bank branch, multiple ATM hub, or in large stores like Walmart/Chedraui. don't use random ATMs scattered in the streets, most are for scams.

if you have to use a taxi, avoid taxi stands along 5th Ave or Ave. Constituyentes. Taxis are more affordable the closer you get 30th Avenida. taxis within Centro should be 50-70 pesos, always carry small denominations of bills on you. collectivos are along major avenues on the local side of town. it's not recommended to ride collectivos if you can't communicate in Spanish
