Pop's Diner is a local favorite and makes you feel like you're a true local (or maybe like you're an extra in an episode of Riverdale?). This classic American diner is a great place for Saturday brunch (but it's popular, so plan accordingly). Personally really enjoy the honey nut french toast.

This is a finer dining experience in downtown Hendersonville. It is one of the few pricier meals I've had in the last several years that I truly feel was worth every penny. The offerings are unique and intentional and the quality of the food is a step up. The menu does change, so I can't recommend any one thing. However, I've never had anything that I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

Great spot for breakfast or lunch. The best gyros in town. Offer great options for vegeterians as well - I'm partial to the hummus and falafel plate. Be advised, that they close by 2:30 pm and are cash only.

Local, delicious chocolates. Their milk and dark chocolate samplers are a bit pricey, but worth it. The real challenge is to not eat the whole box in one sitting. The meltaways are another personal favorite. I'm not obsessed with chocolate and orange, but their orange meltaways are so so good.

While this is a chain, it is so good and makes any day better. The banana split is HUGE and is best shared. The root beer floats are great. All of the specialties are awesome but can be very rich - I recommend the Hawaiin Lu'au if you don't want to OD on the chocolate. Also, their whitties (ice cream sandwiches) are nothing to shake a stick at. How obvious is it that I go here a lot?
