The Casbah and its owner, Mona Best, brought about many pivotal moments in the early days of The Beatles, shaping their beginnings and providing a home for the distinctive Merseybeat sound which would change the face of popular music forever. The Casbah knew the savage young Beatles before Epstein: their first live performances were here, in the club they made their own, even being involved in decorating the basement in its distinctive style. "I think it's a good idea to let people know about the Casbah. They know about the Cavern, they know about some of those things, but the Casbah was the place where all that started. We helped paint it and stuff. We looked upon it as our personal club." Sir Paul McCartney.

Liverpool’s Royal Court is a unique theatre success story. Alongside our mission to breathe life back into every corner of our much-loved city centre building, we’ve also created a truly Liverpudlian theatre venue with loyal audiences who adore a big night out. Dedicated to the people and stories of our city, a trip to the Royal Court is about great entertainment before, during and after the show. But we’re not the only ones delivering great nights out in Liverpool, and we’re proud to be part of a citywide theatre family that loves telling stories just as much as we do. So when you fancy a cracking night out, do please come and visit us – but remember that there’s a feast of brilliant theatre in our city’s other venues too

The International Slavery Museum is located within Liverpool's Albert Dock, inside the Maritime Museum building. The museum is the only one of it's kind and looks at the aspects of historical and contemporary slavery. Expect to be taken on a thought-provoking and moving explorative journey beginning at life before slavery. It looks at the people of West Africa and their rich and varied history and culture developed, long before European slaves. At the beginning of the museum, youngsters can explore the Igbo family replica and learn about traditional African Culture. The story continues to enslavement, of which features a walk-in audio visual display which capturing the horrors and conditions that were endured by slaves on slave ships across the Atlantic. This chapter of the museum is narrated by people that were stripped of their identities and treated as animals by crews. The final section of the museum spotlights the reminders of the racism and discrimination faced by the Black population even after the abolition of the slave trade. However, this is not the end of the exhibition, the museum delves into the spirit shown by people of African descent and how this influenced the societies of culture of America and Europe today. Visitors are encouraged to visit the Black Achievers Wall, the Freedom Wall and to visit the Campaign Zone which regularly displays exhibitions on how millions all over the world are still being sold as objects and forced to work for little or no pay.

Well well well, we bet you're brimming with excitement. Get your flat cap ready and pocket watch ticking, because by order of the Peaky Blinders get down to The Baltic, suited and booted ready for a tipple of medicinal. Peaky Blinders bar in Liverpool's Cains Brewery Village is a must-visit for all fans of the Birmingham based, Liverpool filmed gangster epic. Located within the Baltic Triangle of Liverpool, a former industrial hub, you'll find Beer Mongers on the warehoused street of Stanhope Street, surrounded by numerous converted bars occupying the former brewery site. The 500 capacity bar takes full advantage of its rustic brewery characteristics and is fully 1920s themed and spread across 2 large floors. Inside you'll find Victorian fixtures, giant copper vats and typical Peaky decor throughout. Choose from fine wines and spirits, cocktails and a collection of carefully selected draught and bottled beers often accompanied by an eclectic soundtrack and live music. Rumour has it, the Pilsner Urquell - delivered direct from the Czechoslavakian brewery, no less - is 'hangover free', there's only one way to find out.
