Potentially known around the globe for hosting the Queen Elisabeth contest for classical music, hosted every year for different instrumentation, but actually Bozar has a lot more in store in terms of music experience. Originally designed by Victor Horta in 1928, this Art Deco monument hosts a wide array of concerts in it's impeccable hall, named after the banker who invested a lot into the Brussels' music scene, Henry Le Boeuf. It has been recently restored to it's original acoustics, taking you back to the way people enjoyed sound in the 1920's. Nick Cave, Django Reinhardt, Daniel Barenboim, .. are some of the greats that blessed their stage. Info & tickets on their website.

The Flagey building opened in 1938 and was named after the mayor of Ixelles, Eugène Flagey. Owing to its shape somewhat resembling of a ship, it gained it's nickname Packet Boat, with the interior including a lot of wood panelling and thin tube lamps. Now, it's the home of the Brussels' Philharmonic orchestra and it is renowned worldwide for its famous hall, called Studio 4. Originally designed as a recording studio, and thus also used for movie scores such as 'The Aviator' by Martin Scorsese, Studio 4 is renowned worldwide for its class-A acoustics. From the Brussels' jazz festival to the short film festival, Flagey is the place to be if you're into culture or want to discover more about it. Walking into Studio 4 is like walking into a dream, you only realize what really happened when the lights are turned back on again.

As it states, the urban radio platform Kiosk Radio broadcasts from a kiosk, located in the middle of the royal park. Only a 10-min walk from the city center, they offer a wide selection of local and other Belgian DJ's, as well as the occasional international act. Catch them doing their thing live in what they like to call 'the sauna'. Outside, there is a bar and sitting area but when it becomes lively, expect an urge to dance until the moonlight breaks through the park's trees.

This multi-disciplinary art space is a safe haven for everyone that thinks out of the ordinary. This goes for artists that perform there, and also for the audience that visits. Situated in a gallery connected to the Central Station, it is open to the public during the daytime but when the evening fades to black you have to buy a ticket to experience one of the most alternative party spaces in Brussels. Every Saturday night from 11pm-7am.

Personalize your drink to the pallet of your choice; just ask the waiter how you feel and he will come up with something to make you feel better. The interior is fascinating, and filled to the brim with memorabilia and original decorations. A very cool way to start, or finish, a nice evening around town. Restaurant Bij Den Boer

Probably my favourite restaurant ever and the perfect place for you to discover Belgian cuisine at it's finest. If you like fish, I can recommend the Sole Meunière, always a winner. And if you want to really submerge yourself in Belgian culture, take the Carbonnades A La Flamande aka Stoofvlees. You won't be dissapointed. It's ALWAYS fully booked so be sure to call Daniel (the owner) and make a reservation. You can find their number online.
