Room Art Space is a cafe and live music venue. It is a great place to work from if you need good internet or if you are just after a well made coffee and an artsy atmosphere. In the evenings you will often find live bands, film screenings or karaoke. They do food if you're hungry but it is not on the top of our list of favourite foods. 5 minutes walk from our place through the windy safe streets of Garden City.

Only 2 minutes from our house it's the closest place to get a good coffee near our house. This is a bookstore/art gallery/cafe. Nice spot to sit and it draws a cool crowd.

This restaurant is a bit more upmarket and on the expensive side, but not unaffordable. It's great for a romantic evening with really good quality food overlooking the Nile, it is also good for business meetings and that type of thing.

The Pyramids of Giza ..... What can we say? The most incredible ancient historic sight in the world!
We have a trusted driver who can take you there for a reasonable fee and spend half the day taking you around the Pyramid complex.

One of our favourite places in Cairo. The Old Islamic City. Market stores along cobble streets. Old tea houses and we highly recommend getting yourself lost along the back streets. You can also pay entry to go to see inside the old mosques there which are quite beautiful, once you buy your ticket at the one location the ticket will be valid for the other mosques throughout the Old City.

Khan Al-Khalili
One of our favourite places in Cairo. The Old Islamic City. Market stores along cobble streets. Old tea houses and we highly recommend getting yourself lost along the back streets. You can also pay entry to go to see inside the old mosques there which are quite beautiful, once you buy your ticket at the one location the ticket will be valid for the other mosques throughout the Old City.
Parks & Nature
10 minutes driving will get you to the oldest garden in Egypt. Great for an inner city chill out in a green space. From time to time there are weekend flea markets here.

A giant western style shopping mall. You can find everything from a needle to a rocket, mostly at prices from 60 - 100% of what you would pay in Europe. Spinney's is a western style mega supermarket that will have all your other needs.
