2 Main St cafes l Only C&M’s Cafe serves breakfast. Our grocery store burned down. It’s been a rough year! Mulholland's Grocery will begin rebuilding in 2024. Classic Cafe offers lunch and dinner/closed 2-5p. This is a rural community. Businesses close earlier then most and hours very. Casey’s general store offers “to go” deli sandwiches and pizza. Call in to order.

The Old Market in Downtown Omaha is a 35 minute drive from Malvern, Iowa. It has brick streets with bars and restaurants. If you are into art the Joselyn Art Museum and the Hot Shops are near. My secret spot is LuBuvette. Grab a bottle of wine and the cheese plate! The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge connects Iowa and Downtown Nebraska and connects to the Wabash Trace Nature Trail. This would be a great afternoon field trip. Otherwise stay in rural Iowa and support the family owned shops within 15 miles: Classic Cafe/Malvern Keg Creek Brewery/Glenwood Waubonsie Station/Tabor Bodega Victoriana and drive the scenic byway in the Loess Hills. You might run into Whiskey Springs which is another rural food/drink venue.

This is a french bistro with retail wine and beer available. It's located in the heart of Omaha's Old Market. The food can be unusual and very good! Or just get the cheese plate and sit on the patio. Love it

Locations are within 30 minutes or closer to the Art Church.
The only other place with Loess Hills is in China. Google the scenic byway. Go for a hike and check out the wineries. If it's spring time pack Deep Woods Off to keep the ticks away.

This is a big pedestrian bridge that connects Iowa and Nebraska. It also connects to the Wabash Trace Nature Trail although I have not done it.

Getting Around
Malvern and Glenwood have mechanics and tow service. Council Bluffs is 25-30 minutes away and would offer more. Omaha is 30-40 minutes.

Family summer activity
The Malvern swimming pool has a 13ft deep end with 2x diving boards and a baby pool. They don’t build them like this anymore!
