Food Scene
This is our go to breakfast / lunch spot in the area because the food / coffee is really good and the service is fast. It is a popular local spot so there can be a line to order, so we recommend that you arrive before the crowds do. In Travelers Rest right along the Swamp Rabbit Trail, so you can bike there easily. Highly recommend the Salted Caramel Cappuccino, and all of the Crepes are great. If you can't have gluten/wheat they have an Almond Flour option that works!

Great local beer and atmosphere. Just across the street from the Swamp Rabbit Trail, so they get a lot bike riders and dog walkers. Usually there is a food truck on site as well!

Parks & Nature
Furman has a beautiful campus, and the area around the lake is like a public park with paved walking trails going all the way around the lake. Great place to walk, run, bike, observe waterfowl. There are restrooms at a couple of spots along the trail, and few dining options at the University Center along the lake.

Connects to Cleveland Park via paved walking trails so it provides a large park area in the middle of downtown to explore and provide a place for exercise. Check out locally-owned Spill the Beans Coffee / Ice-cream shop right on the edge of the park.
