The sweeping balcony at the front of the property takes in the bay and the view beyond, all the way to the mountain that frames Hobart. It's the kind of place a proper getaway was built for, whether you're after sand between the toes or simply a chance to switch off.

River Road Chalet, Surges Bay

We are situated 1 hour drive from Hobart, on the Huon River Estuary. The ambience of the property is a secluded, rural, actual waterfront acreage. Guests may enjoy the pebble beach and rock pools together with the private jetty for fishing. We have a secure fenced area adjacent to the chalet suitable for well-behaved pets. (At the owners discretion) Please make contact with us prior to confirming your booking to discuss the pet you intend to bring.

Wilderness World Heritage Area, including the Hartz Mountains National Park, Hastings Caves Thermal Springs & the Ida Bay historic railway are at your doorstep & the drive from Hobart will take you through the beautiful Huon Valley.
