Café Frosch is a relaxing, machiya style café by the park. A place where people who enjoy culture and the arts can meet, regardless of nationality or age. Every Wednesday from 7-9pm Cafe Frosch hosts English Night. You can have a drink (coffee, tea, juice) for ¥1000 or food for ¥1500.

Comfortable restaurant inside a machiya and in front of a kids park, a good place to relax for lunch time, dinner, or a coffee with cake. Reasonable prices and English speaking family (Japanese-German couple).

Machiya cafe. They have a western and a Japanese style menu. Lots of interesting books on Kyoto and they regularly have live performances. They sell their koji bread on Sundays but you have to be fast
