This is a great way to walk into Newcastle. You’ll pass The Arches which features cool independent businesses such as Big Fat Donut Co. I love the steel structure of the bridge and the views of the river, Quayside and other bridges is amazing! You also come out by the castle and other historic buildings and can walk past The Old Post Office building on your way into Newcastle, another stunning building! You can also walk over The Tyne Bridge into Newcastle but as it’s a busy 4-lane road with cars going 40mph I don’t find it as relaxing or pleasant!

20 mins walk from the flat. This is one of the top 4 famous bridges of Newcastle. ( The other three are The Swing bridge, Tyne bridge and the Millenium bridge) . You can't miss them as they are pretty close to each other). You can then walk down the quayside and enjoy a drink at one of the nice bars/cafes in the area.

Allowing both vehicles and trains to use the same bridge was new in its day. Offers great views of the river front.
