A lovely castle ruins with a breathtaking view of the Thames estuary. Get the train to Leigh on sea and then it's a nice half hour walk through fields (people at the station will know the way)

Fascinating ruin from this former Thames River stronghold. Great views and sunsets with flasks of hot chocolate (+rum). Picnic and kite flying.

Hadleigh Castle, overlooking the Thames estuary, was built in the 13th century. Visit the remains of the castle and if you have little ones with try the rare breeds centre nearby
