During World War II, German Nazis shot more than ten thousand residents of Nis and Southeast Serbia on Bubanj hill. Although it has dark backgroung, it is one of the largest Second World War execution sites in Serbia, as a monument it is beautiful because it represents the ressilience of people in Nis. Dominant feature of the park is three concrete obelisks that symbolize raised hands with clenched fists. Each of the three fists are different sizes, depicting men's, women's and children's hands that defy the enemy, symbolic of the fact entire families were killed at Bubanj.

Memorial Park Bubanj is a World War II memorial complex built to commemorate the shooting and execution of more than 12.000 citizens of Niš and people from Serbia and other parts of the country, and it is located in Palilula municipality of Niš, Serbia. It is a great place to escape the urban city and enjoy nature or have a picnic.
