This tower has an interesting history and one of the surviving original hundred towers in Lucca. it was initially just a tower that had a bell ringing out the time, later a real clock was placed into.

This tower has an antique Swiss watch that strikes the hours and on the top it also allows a beautiful view of the city.

The Watch Tower is, with the Guinigi Tower, one of the most interesting place to visit inside the town walls, the view from the top is outstanding and the cheap cost of the ticket makes that totally worthy!

Recently restored by the municipal administration and reopened for visits, the Torre delle Ore is situated on the via Fillungo, and is the tallest tower in the city.
