Whatever the weather you are guaranteed to have a fascinating time in this museum. It is free to enter, huge, recently renovated, lots of galleries, two museums in one.

One of the less well known public galleries which often has interesting exhibitions. Your ticket allows you to revisit.

Right by Holyrood Palace, where the Queen stays when she is in Edinburgh, this gallery puts on fascinating shows from her collection. Well worth the ticket price, in my experience.

The Queen's Gallery is an art gallery in Edinburgh, Scotland. It forms part of the Palace of Holyroodhouse complex. It was opened in 2002 by Queen Elizabeth II, and exhibits works from the Royal Collection. It is open to the public daily.
