Installed in 1892 Designed by Gustavo Eiffel The Iron House is a prefabricated property imported from Belgium to Mozambique and built in 1892 to be the residence of the general governor of Lourenço Marques (now Maputo). Today, the Iron House belongs to the National Libraries - Ministry of Culture. Time to visit: 8am to 2pm

Eiffel's, yes the same engineer, built a iron house in the tropics. And in those days they did not have ACs. Ok, geographically speaking we are just outside the tropics.
