It began as a co-op where employees from Indian Coffee Board were laid off around 1960/s and one of their socialist trade union person Mr Gopalan organised to create a co-op and since then many cities have invited them. They also make dosas without oil. Their is very little difference in the salaries of the staff and is in a Jawahar Kala Kendra, which is an art and culture center run by government. Its also reasonably prices with a dosa costing around one USD and coffee for 1/3rs of a USD

Best for early birds. Don't forget to order a hot coffee if you are a coffee lover. The breakfast will surely make you go again next morning to this place.

Its also reasonably prices with a dosa costing around one USD and coffee for 1/3rs of a USD. But sadly they put sugar in their dosa and chutney is pretty bad. Their quality has gone down. If you want to enjoy the period feel of the cafe and the story of a workers coop, you can visit it.
