Ilha Grande was, until a couple of decades ago, closed to tourists (there was an old prison there). Although in recent years tourism has prospered quite a bit, it still offers that wild atmosphere in it's many pristine beaches. Save at least two days to get to know the area, more if you can.

The Big Island is a magical place, full of natural beauty, situated in the municipality of Angra dos Reis. Here is a lot of nature, preservation, activities, hotels, restaurants.
