Catalan Bay is the second largest sandy beach in Gibraltar. It is a former fishing village on the eastern side of the Rock and is very popular with both Gibraltarian’s and tourists. The surrounding land use is predominantly residential but there are some light-industrial activities and a hotel.

Catalan beach with its picturesque colourful houses, bars and restaurants is a great place to spend the day. Easily reached by bus (route 4 or 8) or car in 10 min, or you can kind of walk it in 20 min. There aren’t any beach clubs so bring your own umbrellas, chairs and towels.
