This is a great alternative to the greenway, starting from Newport all the way to Letterkeen bothy (shelter)

This is a wilderness area set aside under EU regulations with a long term plan to re-wild the area to encourage native flora and fauna to thrive. The pine marten is already flourishing in the area.
