Very popular with local swimming groups, from Battery rocks you can swim at any tide time. In the summer the rocks heat up during the low tide and increase the water temperature at high tide by a degree or two.

The local people of PZ have been swimming here daily since the beginning of time, there are groups that go together and others that go alone...some swim right to Newlyn. I love to lay on the rocks in the hot sun and then have a few dips, always amazing how blue the sea is.
