The area where we live; amazing views and beautiful spots. It’s no more the typical neighborhood it used to be, we know. But there is still much to discover and more to admire. it’s one of the more ancient areas of the wole city, and you can tell by observing the buildings, the shape of the streets (via delle terme is curved!) and the very narrow alleys, named ‘chiasso’. Via delle terme is a beautiful street, and a quiet one. When you turn left from via Por Santa Maria what you perceive is a strange silence. If you know the paintings of Ottone Rosai you might find some similarities. The parallel street, via santi Apostoli, will bring you to a stunning little very ancient square with an incredible Romanesque church. Don’t miss it! It’s open for a few hours a day, try to go and visit it because it’s a beauty. You can keep walking towards via de tornabuoni, the wide elegant fashion street. In Piazza Santa Trinita, around the column, you find the wonderful Church of Santa Trinita (with a painting by Cimabue) and the Museum hosting the private collection of contemporary art Casamonti, in the beautiful framework of Palazzo Bartolini Salimbeni. Go back to via porta rossa, try a biscuit at Mattei shop and go to Piazza Strozzi, where you can maybe admire an art exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi or a movie at the Odeon Cinema!
