The BMW World is a museum dedicated to the history of one of Germany's most iconic carmakers. The name of BMW stands for "Bayerische Motorenwerke" (= Bavarian motor works) and the company has a history of more than 100 years, reinventing itself in almost every decade.

BMW Welt is the Munich car manufacturer's experience and delivery centre. This is where the company's history and future meet. All brands of the BMW Group are represented and can be scrutinised by the visitors. There are also guided tours, restaurants and souvenir shops. In 2007, BMW Welt opened its doors to the public in the immediate vicinity of the corporate headquarters, the main plant and the BMW Museum.
