There is a small mountain named Mont Royal in the middle of this island on the St Laurence river. You guessed right, it gave the name Montreal to the city. You can go to the top and have a complete view of downtown. There is a lac, hiking paradise, autumn is the best time to visit.

The classic look out over downtown, walk or cycle along broad winding paths to the mountain top for the view point and the iconic Montreal cross. Enter park from the top of rue Rachel. In winter, find the cross country skiing rental beside Beaver Lake, where skates are also rented.
