The Doctors Study - Iron Amethyst Inn

Enter the Doctor’s Study through a re-created turn-of-the-century study – medical journals and top hat neatly hung up, a crank wall phone and calendar look as if the doctor just returned from a house call. Step under the arch and into the bedroom with queen-size brass bed with cast cherubs, past the remote-controlled fireplace, and into your cozy private bath. This bath has the best of both worlds with it’s large two-person shower featuring separate controls, body sprays, and the hand-made English tile version of “A Coign of Vantage” by Lawrence Alma-Tadema make this the ultimate showering experience! Step around the corner to enjoy the large double whirlpool bath, Doc Kester’s remedy to all that ails you. Located on the first floor.

The Burlington Hotel & Bar was built with 12 sleeping rooms for railroad workers in 1891. Located in Alma along the Mississippi River and still along active railroad tracks, it was added to the National Register of Historical Places in 1982. The hotel now features 5 bedrooms for up to 12 guests, a bar & a shop called 'Queen Bee Alma' offering crochet & craft classes. Location: 1/2 mile from the marina/beach, a few doors down from Kwik Trip, and a short walk to the bars & shops, downtown Alma.

Root River Inn, Whalan En Suite

This room, named after the smallest town on the Root River Trail, is our smallest room. Perfect if you just plan to sleep here an be out enjoying the day. There is a bench and a stool in the room. This room has a window overlooking main street. You can see the bike trail and the bridge from your room. Recline in your queen bed and watch the Roku TV where you can watch many free channels or log into your own services. This room has the sink in the room and toilet and shower in the bathroom.

American House 1854- Stagecoach Stop Suite

Take in the beauty of the Mississippi River at this unique and tranquil getaway. The American House Inn is the oldest standing building in McGregor, IA. Built in 1854, this building is on the National Registry of Historic Places and takes you back to the late 1800s but with modern amenities. Enjoy a private room in this fully remodeled 1902 Queen Anne. The Walser Room has a private bathroom with shower, as well as a Jacuzzi tub. Guests have access to all of the main level common areas including the parlor, living and dining rooms, and any one of the three porches. Two of these porches have Mississippi River views. Guests also love hanging out in the newly remodeled kitchen. Sorry, but microwave only cooking. This is not a bed and breakfast and breakfast is not provided.
