The tide is in two thirds of the time, ideal for birdwatchers, paddle boarders etc. The Old Tram road below forms part of the minerals track (with cycle hire) to the north coast. Falmouth with its maritime museum, sandy beaches, scenic river and marine watching trips is nearby. Loe beach watersports centre a short drive. Swimming/SUP from the quay 100m away.

There are lovely walks nearby and you can cycle along the Bissoe Trail from here to the north Cornish coast. Mooringside has a courtyard garden which is a real sun trap.

Nestled on the banks of the river Kenall, The Perran Foundry is a World heritage site that is over 200years old!. The Engine House as the name suggests was the beating heart of the foundry. The building has been brought back to life and now boasts contemporary spaces set into the fabric of the old foundry buildings.
