Steeped in history and culture, I've been to two of the three islands. On Inismore, you get to see Dun Aengus an iron age fort on the edge of a 100meter high cliff dating back to 1100 BC.

Beautiful village, with restaurants, pubs, traditional music and depending on the week, arts festivals. There is also a lovely sandy beach.

It is the 'capital' of Connemara, plenty of pubs, shops and stores. Great views of the Twelve Bens on the drive there.

A beautiful little town, I really enjoyed the Killary 90 Minute Cruise where I learned about Ireland's only Fjord and saw some dolphins.

It is an absolutely amazing drive from Knock to Oughterard! It takes about 45 minutes but you see spectacular views as you cross the hills, valleys, forests, streams and boglands.

I found The Mart to be very interesting where customs have lasted through the centuries from sheep farmers making deals at a bar counter to sheep and pony fairs outside on the crossroads.
