While We were staying there, The gas was out for over a week. We were very disappointed in this, because we had a newborn baby with us, and it was getting cold outside. We also couldn’t take a hot shower for over a week. It was a big inconvenience. Received a very minimal refund for our inconvenience. It was only enough to cover two night stay at a hotel. He’s a nice guy, but the whole situation really sucked. Also, we all started feeling sick at the same time and we think it might’ve gone black mold. We brought that up to him, but he said “it should be fine”

Roaches in the kitchen! Hair and dust everywhere!

Please let this cautionary tale be the last review citing the state of poor cleaning and presence of roaches for this airbnb. I booked this rental while selling my home and neglected to read the reviews, only seeing the phenomenal location within my budget.

The mention of roaches has been consistent for this unit as well as his other rental. I was very busy tying up loose ends and had spent only a few hours in the rental and the 2nd evening I messaged Rick via the app regarding roaches in the kitchen. The following morning I woke up and still hadn't heard from him, even though it was reported that he "responds in 1 hour". I messaged again. I texted. I then reached out to Airbnb for help with getting a refund and relocating, and it wasn't until then that he emerged to say he would be by the following day to spray.
I would have shown more grace had he not ghosted bc bugs happen but his accountability was zero. KEEP LOOKING.

The location was wonderful! Very quiet, but still walkable to restaurants and shops. Rick was very responsive in communicating and willing to address any concerns. I recommend arriving in the daytime as the driveway is narrow and can be challenging to navigate for the first time in the dark.

What an incredible location! We came in for the ATL United game, and we were easily able to drive to the Decatur Marta stop to get to the game really easily. We loved being walkable distance to a cute coffee shop and several great restaurants, as well as the Saturday farmer’s market across the street. Rick’s place was simple, but had all we needed, and it felt peaceful and “cabin-like” even though we were in a small town. We would definitely stay here again!
